Herbert Ward Memorial Library Walking Tour - Podcast

The Herbert Ward Memorial Library Walking Tour is a three minute MP3 podcast that may be downloaded to a MP3 player or itunes. This tour was created to assist students and parents in understanding the layout of the library.  Since the library services kindergarten through adults, it is hoped this podcast will help its patrons know where to look for appropriate materials. 1. Hello Lorri,

I enjoyed learning about the Herbert Ward Memorial Library. Your tour explained where I can find any material that I would be interested in - youth, teen, adults. You spoke slow, and clearly for all to understand, which is the most important part when creating a podcast. You also added some fun information such as getting a free bookmark before leaving.

  2. I think you did a great job with your podcast. Your voice is soothing and official-sounding. And your tour is very easy to understand.

  3. Lorri, I agree with the previous two posts; you were very articulate and perfectly paced. The only two comments that I have are that some of the vocabulary/terminology might be a bit advanced for your younger users (such as "perimeter" and "back issues") and I would like to have been able to follow a link from your blog to get to the Herbert Ward Memorial Library's website- assuming they have one. Overall though, I think you did a great job. I especially liked how you oriented your listener at the beginning of the tour.

  4. You do have a fantastic voice for this! I feel like I have heard your voice before on a tour that I did at a historical facility or something! I think doing a podcast showing around the library is a great idea in a sense. You can download it to your ipod and walk around the library while its being listened to! You enunciated very well too, making it easy to comprehend and follow! You spoke slowly enough too! Great job!

  5. I thought your voice lends itself well to pod-casting. I could almost visualize the library throughout your narration. I can see where vocabulary might need to be adjusted, but feel you were talking to the needs of the typical user. I would love to visit your library. It sounds like a wonderful facility.
